For anyone still interested in following Blackpool, a number of the Yorkshire Seasiders will be making the trip across the Pennines to watch the "team" play away at Crewe Alexandra.


We will be travelling by train and are looking at the following journey:

An 80th birthday dinner celebration with Blackpool legend Jimmy Armfield CBE - Thursday 22nd October 2015

Yorkshire Seasiders are going to be taking a table for this wonderful evening to celebrate Jimmy Armfield's 80th Birthday. It sounds as if it will be a fantastic occasion. If you would like to join us, please let Charlie or Phil know.

An 80th birthday dinner celebration with Blackpool legend Jimmy Armfield CBE - Thursday 22nd October 2015

 

Later in September, one of the greatest servants to the town and football club of Blackpool celebrates a special landmark – his 80th birthday.

 

We cannot let this wonderful 80th birthday occasion of our friend and Blackpool legend Jimmy Armfield go by without showing him that he is still respected and loved by the town he has served. 

 

There are few people like Jimmy Armfield in the world of football who have commanded respect in so many various role and they don’t celebrate their 80th birthday every day.

 

As Blackpool fans, we are so proud that Jimmy commands respect around the World and he talks glowingly of his love for the town of Blackpool everywhere he goes.

 

We have no greater ambassador for the town – possibly ever.

 

Therefore, there will be a dinner, 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start, on Thursday 22nd October 2015 – the month after Jimmy’s family birthday celebrations.  A chance for us to listen to Jimmy’s thoughts and experiences of the town and country he has served all his life and the game he loves - over eight decades.  There are few who quite understand the sense of community spirit and serving as Jimmy has - giving all his life at so many different levels.

 

It will be a three course dinner in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and the event will be as big as the response I get from the town and its people.

 

Fans of Jimmy, Blackpool and football are invited to what will hopefully be a memorable occasion.  Some of Jimmy’s family and footballing friends will be invited as guests, too.  Email me if you would like to join the celebration – ticket price is £35 each.  Tables of ten will be available.  Thanks for all of your early support – 100 places gone already in 48 hours – let’s hope for more.

Yorkshire Seasiders Meeting - Scunthorpe 5th September

A local game for many of us in the Yorkshire Seasiders so a reminder that we're taking the opportunity to meet up before the game in the Berkeley Arms just up the road from the ground.  

 

There is parking available there and it's not far down to the ground.

We are looking at starting the meeting at 1pm and finishing at 1.30pm – everyone can get on with their day.

Yorkshire Seasiders are running a bus to the first game of the season. We've still got a few places left if you fancy going. Pay on the gate is available so you don't need to get a match ticket in advance (and this way you don't have to give the Oystons any of your £££). Pick ups are: Leeds 08.30 Jct 40 08.40 Cedar Court 08.45 Meadowhall 09.20 Let me know if you're interested and haven't already told me, Wizaard or Curryman. Cost is £25 per person and that includes your £5 membership for the year (which entitles you to cheaper transport for future games). If you have already paid for membership the cost will be £20. Next Meeting

The next meeting will be held prior to the Scunthorpe Match on Saturday 5th September at the Berkeley Hotel, Doncaster Road, Scunthorpe. 


We aim to start at 12.00 - 12.30  and will be done by 1-1.30pm at the latest.

Yorkshire Seasiders Meeting & AGM - 20th June - Doncaster

Just a quick reminder about the meeting tomorrow taking place at the Plough in Doncaster from 12 noon. The address for the pub is 8 West Laith Gate, Doncaster, DN1 1SF and it appears to be a few minutes’ walk from the station.
